The following brief History of Hillcrest has been written with you in mind. Hopefully, what you read will help you to better know where we’ve been, who we are and what we aspire to achieve for God and our community.

Hillcrest Baptist is an amalgation of three United Baptist churches. On 29 June 1959 the congregations of Ludlow Street, Charlotte Street and Fundy Heights Baptist churches unified their purposes, resources and people in order to better serve their local community.

The lay of the land chosen for the new church site led to the name "Hillcrest". On 20 June 1997 Hillcrest became an incorporated entity. Since its inception, Hillcrest has express faith in worship and their giftedness in outreach and discipleship. We have expressed our church’s Vision and Purpose in the following words:

VISION STATEMENT:

"GOING TO OTHERS; GROWING EACH OTHER WITH CHRIST"

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

"OFFERING TO PEOPLE EVERYWHERE GOD’S TRUTH, COMPASSION,
FRIENDSHIP AND OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME A POSITIVE INFLUENCE FOR CHRIST IN OUR WORLD."
